Privacy Policy

Memora (learnmemora.in) is a study app for reading comprehension and vocabulary, run by Anurag Kumar, Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. In this policy, "we" means Memora and "you" means anyone who uses it.

This policy follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Questions about it go to hello@learnmemora.in.

Your account. Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.

What you tell us. The answers on the welcome cards: the name you'd like to be called, your exam and year, and how you like to read. Your phone number only if you choose to add it.

How you study. The words you learn and how each review went, your answers to passages (including how sure you were and how long you took), Coach's notes, your streak, XP, badges and league results, your name and face on the boards, and your settings.

Things you send us. A question you report as wrong, and any email you write to us.

Payments. When you buy Bloom, the payment is handled by our payment partner. We give it your email and the mobile number you type at checkout, which we don't keep. We receive the amount, the date, the pass you bought and whether it went through. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.

To run Memora for you: save your progress across devices, schedule your reviews, build your report and Coach's plan, show you on the boards (unless you hide), and switch on the plan you paid for.

To keep it working and fair: fix problems, stop abuse, and answer you when you write to us.

We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone. We'll never message your phone number without asking you first.

Some features use AI: word cards and pictures, Coach's replies and lessons, Story Adventure and Word Detective, and the daily passage. For these, the text needed for the task (a word, a passage, your answer to a question) is sent to an AI provider: Google (Gemini), Cloudflare or OpenRouter.

We don't send your name, email or phone number with these requests. Please don't type personal details into Coach or the games.

A few companies help us run Memora. They handle data only to provide their service to us:

• Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage.
• Our hosting provider: serves the website.
• Google: sign-in with Google, the Gemini AI, and the website's fonts.
• Cloudflare and OpenRouter: AI pictures and text.
• Merriam-Webster: dictionary lookups (only the word is sent).
• Cashfree Payments: our payment partner, takes your payment for Bloom.
• Zoho: our email.

Some of these companies store data outside India. We may also share data if the law requires it.

If you're signed in, the leagues and boards show your board name, your face (the avatar you pick), your level and your XP for the week. Your study buddy sees your weekly progress. You can change your name and face, or hide from the leagues completely, in Settings. Nothing else about you is shown to other students.

Memora keeps a copy of your progress in your browser's storage so it works quickly and offline. It also keeps you signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics tools.

As long as your account is open. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our database straight away, and from backups within 30 days. Payment records may be kept longer where Indian tax law requires it.

You can:

• See and download your data: Settings, then Download a backup.
• Correct it: change your name, face, exam and goals in Settings.
• Delete it: Settings, then Delete your account. It's immediate.
• Ask us anything about your data, or complain: write to hello@learnmemora.in. We reply within 7 days.

If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Memora is made for students preparing for exams, some of whom are under 18. If you're under 18, please use Memora with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can write to hello@learnmemora.in to see or delete their child's data.

Your data travels over encrypted connections, and each student can reach only their own records. No system is perfect, so if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.
